What’s your favourite city in the world?

Cape Town

What’s the number ONE thing you recommend people do when they get there and why? Take the cable car up to the top of Table Mountain just before dusk.

What local food and drink do people HAVE to try there? Try a braai (barbecue). You can do your own or there are various restaurants where you can the braai experience, such as Backyard Grill at Sea Point. And of course you must try the wine.

What’s your favourite city in the world?

Cape Town, South Africa

What’s the number ONE thing you recommend people do when they get there and why? Head up to Table Mountain either by cable car or via a hiking trail. The mountain overlooks the city and the views from there are just spectacular. What I love most about Cape Town is the dramatic mountain scenery right in the city and the gorgeous beaches with big waves and spearmint waters. Another thing I highly recommend doing when in Cape Town is going paragliding off Lion's Head to see the coastline and mountains from above. Mindblowing!

What local food and drink do people HAVE to try there? Boboti! Pronounced ba-boor-tea, the national dish of South Africa is a delicious mixture of curried meat and fruit with a creamy golden topping, not dissimilar to moussaka

What’s your favourite city in the world?

Cape Town

What’s the number ONE thing you recommend people do when they get there and why? Take a helicopter ride. You can bargain down the guys at the waterfront, meaning an already "affordable for a helicopter ride" price can become a "wow, this is an incredible deal" price. And no matter what you pay, you'll be blown away. The landscape of Cape Town is unlike any other city in the world - ocean, Table Mountain and a beautiful wine all RIGHT THERE - and getting to take in the full scope of it, from the air, all at once, is a great way to enjoy this magnificent city.

What local food and drink do people HAVE to try there? Have a brai - it's a South African bbq, and you can find people doing it almost anywhere.

What’s your favourite city in the world?

Cape Town

What’s the number ONE thing you recommend people do when they get there and why? Cape Town is a city with many faces and it will impress any type of traveller. You can visit the main landmarks, historic neighbourhoods, and find endless shopping and dining options in the city. But what I love most about Cape Town is its proximity to nature. Take a gondola up to the Table Mountain, enjoy amazing views from the Signal Hill, stroll on the beach of Camps Bay, or grab a picnic and spend a day in Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens... If you venture just a bit further, you will find vineyards and stunning coastal landscapes of Cape Peninsula. Furthermore, it's the only place in the world where you can see wildlife like whales, penguins, and a big variety of African animals on the same day...

What’s your favourite city in the world?

Cape Town, South Africa

What’s the number ONE thing you recommend people do when they get there and why? Take the cable car or hike up Table Mountain, one of the world’s oldest mountains, then stroll the plateau, taking note of the incredible flowers (some 1,470 species, 70 percent of which are endemic!) and panoramic cape views of the tip of Africa and the continent's chicest city.

What local food and drink do people HAVE to try there? Dine at Cape Town’s exotic Africa Café, trying gourmet dishes from Malawi, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and more Sub-Saharan cuisines that rarely make the restaurant scene.

What’s your favourite city in the world?

Cape Town

What’s the number ONE thing you recommend people do when they get there and why? You MUST do the rotating Cable Car to the top of Table Mountain as the view is incredible! You can see the ocean, the beaches, the city, and much more. Go just before sunset so you can see the city both in the day and at night.

What local food and drink do people HAVE to try there? African Braai - it is the famous BBQ (lots of different types of meat). There are some local hot spots (like Mzoli’s Place) which are non-touristy so can connect with local South Africans while listening to some live bands and soaking up the ambience over a delicious meal with friends!
