Are you going to San Blas for the first time and wondering how much will it cost? Is it expensive? How much money should you save? Are there any hidden fees that you don’t know about? Keep reading to find out.

Whether you are going from Port Carti or Panama City, there are many different options to visit San Blas, one for every budget. The price of a San Blas tour starts at $68 and there are many different options available. You can choose between different full day tours or multiday tours to San Blas.  If you would like, you can go camping or sailing. If you are one of those who prefer to go on their own, you can also do that.

Please have in mind that everything in San Blas has to be paid in cash. Before you start planning to go, you should know that prices below DO NOT include entrance fees which is $5 if you are Panamanian and $20 if you are foreign. They also do not include a $2 port fee, except if specified differently. All prices in this blog are prices per person.

Shared Full Day Tour from Panama City (from $115 per person)

Shared San Blas full day tours from Panama City will cost you from $115. A price like this normally includes a hotel or residence pickup and drop-off, boat transport from Port Carti and between islands, entrance to each island you visit, visit to a natural swimming pool, lunch, and a guide. Almost every full day tour also includes a visit to 2 or 3 other islands in San Blas. It can happen that the tour price does not include some of the equipment like snorkelling equipment. I suggest you make sure what is included in the price of a tour before reserving. If the tour of your choice doesn’t include snorkelling equipment, you can normally borrow it in San Blas for $5.

Shared Full Day Tour from Port Carti (from $68 per person)

A shared full day tour to San Blas from Port Carti will cost you from $68. Since the tour starts at Port Carti, you will have to get there on your own. You can go by car that has to be a 4x4 or 4x2 vehicle (on the contrary, you are not allowed to enter by security measures), bus or private transfer. A price of around $68 normally includes boat transfers from the port and between the islands, lunch and a drink. Normally, it also includes port taxes ($2), a visit to 2 or 3 islands, and a natural swimming pool. 

Most tours do not include $5 entrance fee for your car and $3 full day parking ticket (the price can vary depending on the season). Remember that everything in San Blas needs to be paid with cash.


On Your Own Without a Tour from Panama City (from $67 per person)

If you are going to San Blas on your own, it will cost you from $67 in case you are going by car. At the entrance, you will have to pay a fee of $5 if you are Panamanian, $20 if you are a foreign, and $5 for your car. The car with which you are heading to port must be 4x4 or 2x4, if not they won’t let you pass. To enter the port will cost you $2 and a full parking day costs around $3. You will have to pay from $25 to $30 for a boat transfer from Port Carti to your island of choice and a $2 fee for an entrance to each island. Every meal costs about $10 to $15. 

Have in mind that by going on your own to San Blas, you are also taking a risk that there might be no spot for you in a boat or an island of choice and you will have no other option than to return home.

Navigate in Catamaran Through San Blas Islands (from $1128 per person)

Your dreams about sailing through San Blas can now come true. A 3 night sailing tour will cost you from $1128. Tour can be shared or private, depending on how many persons would like to do it. There are various catamaran owners that offer navigating tours in San Blas. Camping Tour from Panama City (from $140 per person)

Camping in San Blas is a special kind of experience and there are many companies that will offer you different types of camping tours. A camping tour will cost you from $140 and the price normally includes a hotel or residence pickup and drop off, food, a tent, and a blow-up mattress. What you will need to bring on your own, is a sleeping bag and a pillow (if you want one). Exploring other islands and snorkelling are also included in the price.

Multiday Tours from Panama City (from $177 per person)

How Much Does it Cost to Visit San Blas?

For one of our tours to San Blas from Panama City, you will pay from $115 to $150 for a day tour and between $140 and $495 for a multi day tour. Transport is included in the price, so you don’t have to worry about anything else except for the entrance fee.
