Full Day Tour to the Emberá Community, The Charco Trail and Zoo

This tour begins with your pickup at your hotel or residence in Panama City. Your driver will pick you up approximately at 8:40 am to take you to the Summit Zoo (entrance included in the tour price).

At the Summit Zoo you will do a guided walking tour that takes approximately 1 hour. You will be able to observe a great variety of plants and more than 75 species of animals such as squirrels, birds, alligators, felines and monkeys. Your guide will be guiding your tour at the zoo while telling you interesting facts about the species you will see.

Then you will be transferred by car to The Charco Trail of the Soberanía National Park (entrance included in the tour price). Doing the walking tour on this nature trail takes around 10 minutes, you will be able to observe the tropical forest, the species that inhabit it and the flora of the humid tropical forest. Your guide will tell you the history of the place and the species you will see while walking through the trail. In addition to walking through The Charco Trails, you can immerse yourself in the Natural Water Hole that is in this area. The name of the trail is attributed to this Natural Water Hole (Charco), and it is an area in which you can relax and immerse yourself in fresh water. Don't forget your swimsuit if you want to dive in!

After your visit to The Charco Trail, you will be transferred by car to the Gamboa Public Pier. There you will board a boat that will take you to your next destination, the Emberá Katuma indigenous community.

Upon your arrival at the Emberá Katuma Community, the locals will welcome you with their traditional music and then you will do a walking tour to get to know the community. They will tell you about their history, traditions, and customs. Around 1:30 pm you will have your lunch, which is generally fish with fried green plantains (patacones). To finish with their cultural act, the locals will do traditional dances and then you will have time to buy handicrafts if you want, just remember to bring cash since there are no ATM and no card collection system in the community.

Approximately at 3:00 pm, you will be transferred by boat back to the Gamboa Public Pier. You will be at the pier at 3:15 pm and your driver will be waiting for you there to take you back to Panama City. You will be at your hotel or residence around 4:00 pm.
