Monkey Islands and the Sloths Sanctuary Tour

This Monkey Islands and the Sloths Sanctuary shared tour starts at 7:15am with your pick-up at your hotel or residence in Panama City. After picking you up, you will be transferred by car to the Gamboa public pier. You will arrive at the Gamboa public pier around 8:20am and you will board a boat that will take you along the Lake Gatun to the Monkey Islands. During your boat transfer on the Lake Gatun, you can observe the big ships leaving the Panama Canal, while your guide tells you about the history of the Panama Canal.

Upon arriving at the Monkey Islands, you will do a boat trip through the 4 Monkey Islands. You can see monkeys such as the titi monkeys, white-faced capuchin monkeys and howler monkeys in their natural habitat. The boat tour around the Monkey Islands lasts approximately 1 hour and your guide will be providing you with interesting facts about the species of monkeys that you will see on the 4 islands.

At the end of your boat trip around the 4 Monkey Islands, you will return to the Gamboa public pier. A driver will wait for you at the pier to take you to the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve, there you will be given a few minutes to go to the bathroom if you wish.

Then, you will continue your transfer by car to the Sloths Sanctuary. In the sanctuary you can observe sloths who have been rescued and you will also hear about their life, habits and the efforts made by volunteers and specialized guides for the conservation of this specie.

After visiting the Sloths Sanctuary, you will visit the butterfly garden, where you will see the butterflies that live in the rainforest, such as the colorful Blue Morpho Butterfly. Finally, you will visit the frogs and orchids exhibitions. Your guide will be with you during the visit to each of the sites and will be given information about each specie. Your visit to the frogs and orchids exhibitions will culminate approximately at 11:20am.

Your driver will be waiting for you at the exit of the exhibitions to transfer you back to your hotel or residence in Panama City. You will arrive at your hotel or residence around 12:30 pm.
