This is a full-day tour to the Embera village. The tour starts when you are picked up at your hotel/residence in Panama City to go towards Lake Alajuela, where you will take the pirogue to visit the Embera village. Detailed Description
The tour begins when the guide picks you up in a vehicle at your hotel or residence around 7:30 am to go on a 1-hour trip to Lake Alajuela (located 1 hour away from Panama City).
Upon arriving at Lake Alajuela, the guide will take you to board a pirogue (a type of boat made of wood with paddles that are traditionally used in indigenous communities) towards the El Mono waterfall, when you arrive you can take a refreshing dip in their waters.
After spending 1 hour at the El Mono Waterfall, the guide will take you to board the pirogue again to go to the Embera village, where you will be received with music and traditional dances of their culture. They will also tell you a little history about the traditions of their community and will teach you how they make their crafts, the guide will be there to answer any questions you may have during the tour.
Around 12:00 pm you will taste a delicious lunch prepared by the Embera community.
At the end of lunch, the guide will take you to board the pirogue once more towards the port of Lake Alajuela.
Once you arrive at the Lake Alajuela port, you will board the vehicle to go back to Panama City. The tour ends with your return to your hotel or residence in Panama City around 2:30 pm.
