Detailed Description

You will meet your guide at the fountain right in front of the Pisa Centrale train station. The guide will be easy to recognize by a sign with the Pisa Walking Tours logo.

Leaving from the fountain you will start exploring the city from the south and make your way up to the Leaning Tower on the northern side, learning about the four districts that Pisa is divided into - all inside the medieval perimeter wall.

After visiting the mural by Keith Haring you will stroll along the busy and pedestrian shopping hub, Corso Italia, slowly making your way up to the river Arno where you can enjoy the views from the riverbanks and visit the districts of San Antonio and San Martino which feature many highlights.

After crossing the river you go through the very heart of Pisa, walking along the historical Borgo Stretto and visiting the districts of San Francesco (Galileo's neighbourhood) and Santa Maria.

Before arriving at the Cathedral and Leaning Tower there will be a stop at the beautiful Piazza dei Cavalieri, originally the heart of the Medieval Maritime Republic of Pisa, and then completely redesigned at the end of the Sixteenth Century by Florentine architects.
