Monkey Island And Kayak Tour

To begin with this shared tour to Monkey Island and Kayak, you must go to the Gamboa Public Dock, located 45 minutes from Panama City. Your guide will pick you up by boat at the dock at 7:00 am to start with your tour. When boarding the boat, your guide will take you on a historical boat trip on Lake Gatun, the guide will explain how the lake emerged and tell you about the history of the Panama Canal while watching some of the ships leaving the Panama Canal.

After the historical tour on Lake Gatun, you will tour the edges of The Monkey Island by boat. During the tour around the Island, you will have the opportunity to feed the monkeys who friendly approaching the boat when they are offered food. It is important not to give any type of food to the monkeys, your guide will give you some fruits for you to feed them.

At the end of the tour around the Monkey Island, you will be taken to the Floating Lodge. Upon arriving at the floating lodge, your guide will show you its facilities that you can use later. After your guide shows you the floating lodge facilities, you will leave your things in the supervision area and then, your guide will give you a brief explanation of the use of the Kayaks to start your Kayak adventure.

You will kayak through the Lake Gatun water trails until you reach the first Waterfall. In the waterfall you can bathe and if you like adrenaline, you can throw yourself from the ravines that are in the waterfall. This is a good opportunity for you to enjoy bathing in the waterfall and take photos in this place in the middle of nature. You will spend approximately 30 minutes in the first waterfall and then, you will continue your kayaking trip through Lake Gatun until you reach the second waterfall where you will spend the next 20 minutes.

Around 11.30am, after relaxing and enjoying the second waterfall, you will return to the floating lodge crossing a different water trail that you crossed to reach the first waterfall. You will arrive at the floating lodge at 12.00pm and there you will have your lunch. Following your lunch, you will have time at the floating lodge to relax and rest after having a fun full day. The floating lodge has hammocks and chairs in case you want to lie down and also has a non-roofed area in case you want to sunbathe.

At 1pm you must pick up your things at the floating lodge supervision area and then board the boat that will take you back to the dock. You will arrive at the dock approximately at 1:30 pm.

There are vegetarian menu options like yellow rice with salad. If you want a vegetarian menu, please let us know before the day of the tour.
