Meteora and Metsovo Guided Tour
Your guide will take you from your accommodation in Corfu to cross the mainland with the local ferries and head towards Meteora, for a guided historical and mythical 12 hour tour of some of the most spectacular holly monasteries of the Orthodox faith. On your way to Meteora you will visit the traditional and famous high mountain village of Metsovo for Lunch and coffee at one of the many taverns serving traditional meat-based dishes of the Epirus region.

Detailed Description
Your full day tour will start with a short (1/2 hour) crossing to the mainland Greece and you will then tour (2.5 hours) towards Meteora. On the way, you will stop at the traditional mountain village of Metsovo for lunch.
Metsovo is a traditional village of northern Greece with completely different, but yet beautiful architecture, and is famous for the cheeses, wines and traditional dishes they offer. Throughout your visit to this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Centre, you will have the opportunity to visit two of the monasteries and enjoy a guided tour of the rich history and religious tradition of the area.
The Meteora provides an outstanding example of the types of monastic construction that illustrates a significant stage in history, that of the 14th and 15th centuries, when the eremitic ideals of early Christianity were restored to a place of honour by monastic communities.
Just below Meteora is the small town of Kalambaka where you will stop to enjoy the magnificent views. You will then take the ferry back, enjoying the unique views of the Old fortress and the Old town of Corfu than can only be seen when leaving or entering the Island by boat. You will be picked up and dropped off at your accommodation in Corfu.
Important: Long skirts and solemn tops for women and long trousers for men are a must to enter the Monasteries.

Cancellation Policy
Date change of attending the excursion is possible without any charges.
Change a booked excursion for a different one is possible. The customer will be refunded or will have to pay the difference in price (does not apply for NO SHOW).
For cancelations from 3 days up to 24 hours before the excursion there is a charge of 25%.
For cancelations from 24 hours up to time of the excursion there is a charge of 75%.
