Lake Marian Day Walk

On this full day tour you will enjoy a walk on Lake Marian, you will be picked up at your hotel in Te Anau at 8:30 AM, to start the trip with a spectacular panoramic tour along Milford Road, approximately 1 hour, after the trip you will enter the National Park of Fiordland, which is the largest national park in New Zealand, you will stop at some fantastic places to take pictures on the way to the lower valley of Hollyford.

Then you will start your way through an incredible bush on a winding and well-formed track that requires a medium level of fitness. It will be a gentle walk next to a spectacular series of waterfalls, then abruptly and becomes quite rocky underfoot and sometimes a little muddy after the rain. As you ascend through a lush forest of fuchsias, wooden slats, and beeches at your own pace, you will make stops where they will tell you about the fauna of the place. You will also see many birds and have time to take pictures. We will offer you a morning tea with coffee for baking and homemade tea, etc. We can also offer you lunch as an optional extra and to be transported by yourself.

The time you spend in Lake Marian will depend on the weather, you will return to the Hollyford parking lot for around 5 hours. If adverse weather shortens your time at Lake Marian, you will be taken further along Hollyford Road and explore incredible short walks and the exclusive Gunns Camp. At the end of the tour, we will leave you back at your hotel around 4:30 PM.
