Detailed Description
In this 4 hour walking tour, you will meet your guide at the offices of Taste Harlem, then prepare to explore the home to a variety of diverse cultures and tastes. Located in the Northern Manhattan area of New York City is the historic neighborhood of Harlem. Traditionally know as a major African American residential, cultural and business center as well as for its beautiful architecture, music venues, and people.
You will taste renowned soul food as well as Caribbean and African cuisines at a variety of restaurants. We’ll spend the day eating our way through Harlem, one block at a time, tasting the culture, history and great foods. Everything from chicken and waffles, macaroni and cheese, rugelach (traditional Jewish pastry), collard greens, short ribs, cornbread, African blended teas and spices and so much more.
Between tastings, you will learn about Harlem’s rich history and treasured architecture. At the end you will be taken back to the meeting point.
